Your Canal Cruising Routes
The Oxford Canal really is a beautiful
choice for a canal cruising holiday. It was built by James Brindley in
the 18th century. Many of the locks and bridges are as they were when
they were built. The canal follows the contours of the land, giving it
many twists and turns as it seeks a passage through the delightful
Oxford countryside.
A canal cruising holiday on the Oxford Canal
allows you to escape the rigours of modern living. You can operate the
locks and bridges or simply visit the pretty towns and villages along
the way. When all this gets too much, then stop and take rest and
refreshment at the many pubs along the way. Or, just moor up and watch
the gentle activity as other boats pass you by.
When you have had enough
just turn the boat around and do it all again!

There are eight boats in the fleet ranging from 2 berth up to
12 berth, giving something to suit all needs and budgets. All are named after the University colleges in Oxford and are painted Oxford blue. Each boat is different and each one has a character of its own.
We take pride in making sure that your chosen
canal cruising boat is spotlessly clean
for your canal cruising holiday. The boats are very well maintained with everything in working order before your arrival to ensure that you take home with you happy memories of
canal cruising with College Cruisers on the Oxford canal.

Handling
Your Boat / Rules of the Water, etc.
It is in our interests as well as yours to ensure that you are confident
and happy with the handling of your boat before you leave us for your
canal cruising holiday. For those
of you new to this fun, we will guide you through the first stages on
board, take you through a lock and explain in great detail the Do's and
Don'ts of canal cruising.
Don't worry about this part of the canal cruising holiday - we will have fun
together!

How to Find Us
The map shows you how to find us.

a larger version. At the boatyard you will find plenty
of parking. Please do your best not to arrive
before 14.00 hrs, as you must remember that we will only have had the
boat returned to us in the morning and the team has to work hard to make
it shipshape for you.
You are, of course, welcome to arrive early, park up and have a stroll or lunch close by. If your boat is ready before 14.30 you can depart
early on your canal cruising holiday along the beautiful Oxford Canal.
The Return
All good things must come to an end, unfortunately. At the end of your
canal cruising holiday with us, we hope you will return on time and leave the boat clean
and tidy so that we can prepare it again.
